PORTLAND, Ore. – Oct. 1, 2012 – Omission Beer is celebrating National Celiac Awareness Month this October with two great-tasting craft beers that everyone of legal drinking age can enjoy. Omission beer is the first craft beer brand in the U.S. focused exclusively on brewing great-tasting beers with traditional beer ingredients—including malted barley—specially crafted to remove gluten. Introduced in late March by Craft Brew Alliance (CBA), Omission Pale Ale and Omission Lager are now available nationwide.

Omission Beer has launched a Beer Finder at www.findomissionbeer.com to help beer drinkers and gluten-intolerant consumers locate retailers, restaurants and bars carrying Omission beers in markets across the country.
Omission is also celebrating National Celiac Awareness Month by asking fans to share stories about their first experiences drinking Omission beer on the brand’s website. Omission recently launched an online forum to showcase these first experiences, which have been dubbed “O” Moments, after receiving daily feedback from many fans that, until the introduction of Omission Beer, were unable to enjoy beers brewed with malted barley. Brewed by Widmer Brothers Brewing in Portland, Ore., gluten in Omission beer is removed using a unique brewing program developed by the brewery. Gluten levels in every batch of Omission beer are measured by the brewery and an independent lab using the R5 Competitive ELISA gluten test to ensure that the beer measures well below the Codex gluten free standard of 20ppm or less. This test is the best test available to measure gluten levels in fermented beverages. Test results for every batch of Omission beer are available to consumers at: www.omissiontests.com.
